Privacy Policy
Pixli PDF Scanner ("Pixli", "the app") is published by Umar Farooq, Pakistan ("I", "me"). This policy explains what the app does with your information.
In short: Pixli does not collect your personal data. It has no internet permission, so your documents, photos and scan results cannot be sent anywhere by the app.
What the app does not do
- No account or sign-in
- No advertising
- No analytics, tracking or crash-reporting services
- No selling or sharing of data with anyone
Information the app works with
To do its job, Pixli handles photos you take with the camera, images and files you pick from your gallery or file picker, the pages you scan, signatures you draw, text recognised from pages, and the contents of QR codes and barcodes you scan. All of this is processed on your phone. I never receive, see or store it.
Permissions
- Camera. Used only while the scan screen is open, to photograph documents and ID cards and to read QR codes. If you refuse it, you can still import photos from your gallery.
- Gallery and files. The app uses Android's own photo and file pickers, so it can read only the items you choose. It does not ask for access to all your photos or storage.
- Nothing else. The app does not ask for internet, location, contacts, microphone or phone permissions.
Where your files are stored
Files you create are kept in the app's private storage and shown in My Files. If you pick a folder under Save to in Settings, copies are also saved there. Temporary files, such as photos taken while scanning, are cleared the next time the app starts. A file leaves the app only when you choose to share, print or export it, and then the app you send it to has its own privacy policy.
Third-party components
Text recognition and barcode scanning use Google ML Kit models that are bundled inside the app and run offline. PDF handling uses the open-source PdfBox-Android library, and the camera uses Android Jetpack CameraX. The app has no internet permission, so none of these components can send your data anywhere.
If a QR code contains a web link, the app opens it in your browser only when you tap Open. That website has its own privacy practices.
Error messages
If the app closes unexpectedly, it may save a short technical error message on your phone and show it the next time you open the app, so you can copy it and send it to me if you wish. It contains no documents or personal data and is never sent automatically.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your data stays on your phone until you delete it. See how to delete your data. Because I hold no data about you, there is nothing stored on my side to delete.
Children
Pixli is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children under 13. Because the app collects no personal data, it does not knowingly collect data from children.
Your rights
Privacy laws in some regions give you rights to access, correct or delete personal data. I hold no personal data about you, but you are welcome to contact me with any question or request and I will answer it.
Security
Your files are protected by your phone's own security, such as screen lock and device encryption. If you scan sensitive documents like IDs, delete them when you no longer need them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
